Takime me punonjës të shëndetësisë
Gjatë muajit Maj, Rrjeti i Fuqizimit të Gruas në Shqipëri (AWEN) ka realizuar takime me punonjës qendrave shëndetësore ku është
diskutuar mbi çështje të dhunës ndaj grave/dhunës në familje, përfshirë dhunën seksuale. Në këto takime janë dhënë udhëzime konkrete se si punonjësit e shëndetësisë mund të identifikojnë rastet e dhunës (treguesit), dhe si duhet të reagojnë pasi identifikojnë rastet. Referimi dhe dhënia e informacionit rreth shërbimeve të tjera ekzistuese në vend (sociale, psikologjike, ligjore, etj.), ka qenë gjithashtu një nga çështjet e
rëndësishme që është trajtuar. Në përfundim të takimeve, janë diskutuar raste hipotetike dhe punonjësit e qendrave shëndetësore janë orentuar se si duhet të veprojnë kur kanë dyshim se pacientet që paraqiten pranë qendrës së tyre, mund të jenë viktima të dhunës ose abuzimit. AWEN ka inkurajuar punonjësit e shëndetit të rrisin përpjekjet e tyre për identifikim dhe referim të viktimave për të dhënë kështu një ndihmë konkrete dhe mundësi që viktimat të riintegrohen.

Meetings with healthcare providers
During May, the Albanian Women’s Empowerment Network (AWEN) held meetings with healthcare providers working in healthcare centers to discuss issues of violence against women/domestic violence, including sexual violence. In these meetings, concrete instructions were given on how healthcare providers can identify cases of violence (indicators), and how they should react after identifying cases. Referral and provision of information about other existing services in the country (social, psychological, legal, etc.), has also been important issues
addressed. At the end of the meetings, hypothetical cases were discussed and healthcare center staff were instructed on how to act when they suspect that patients coming to their centers may be victims of violence or abuse. AWEN has encouraged health workers to increase their efforts in identification and referral in order to provide concrete assistance and opportunities for victims to reintegrate in the social life.
