SOS Hotline on the 15th session of the Women’s parliament/ SOS Nikšić na 15. zasijedanju Ženskog parlamenta

As part of the 16 days of activism against violence against women, the representative of SOS helpline Nikšić participated in the 15th session of the Women’s Parliament.

Representative of SOS Nikšić used the opportunity to once again draw the public’s attention to the problem and consequences of violence against women for Montenegrin society, especially the most drastic form of violence against women – femicide.

The session of the Women’s Parliament represented an excellent opportunity to raise 3 important topics when it comes to Femicide in Montenegro:

  • Introduction of femicide as a separate criminal offense in the Criminal Code
  • Introducing stricter penalties for perpetrators
  • Introduction of Femicid watch – a national mechanism for monitoring cases of femicide.
