Improving protection of women victims of violence in Brčko District BiH – Unaprijeđenje zaštite žena žrtava nasilja u Brčko distriktu BiH
13 April 2018 – Brčko District (BD), as the special administative unit within Bosnia and Herzegovina is taking concrete steps to improve legislative and public policy framework on prevention and combating violence against women and domestic violence. At the end of February, BD Assembly adopted the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence, with objective to improve protection of victims, and define authorities of the subjects of protection (police, prosecutor’s office, office for legal assistance, health and social protection institutions, and other institutions and organizations that are providing specialized support to victims of violence).
Since beginning of the 2017, together with Citizens’ Association Vive žene from Tuzla, the Foundation United Women Banja Luka is working on empowerment of local service providers in BD to develop and implement systemic and coordinated approach to prevention and combating WAV/DV, in line with the international standards set up in the Istanbul Convention, focused on providing efficient and sensitized assistance to women and girls survivors, based on their needs. The activities are supported by the UNWOMEN in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and beside capacity building and mentoring sessions for women and men professionals that are working with women and girls victims of violence, they focus on developing of the BD Protocol for the Subjects of Protection on Prevention and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence that will be signed in April 2018.
13 april 2018 – Kao posebna admniistrativna jedinica unutar Bosne i Hercegovine, Brčko Distrikt preduzima konkretne korake u cilju unaprijeđenja zakona i javnih politika usmjerenih na sprečavanje i subijanje nasilja prema ženama i nasilja u porodici. Krajem februara 2018 godine, Skupština Brčko Distrikta je usvojila Zakon o zaštiti od nasilja u porodici usmjeren na osnaživanje podrške žrtvama nasilja i definisanje obaveza subjekata zaštite (policije, tužilaštva, kancelarije za pravnu pomoć, ustanova zdravstvene i socijalne zaštite i drugih institucija i organizacija koje pružaju specijalizovanu podršku žrtvama nasilja).
Početkom 2017 godine, u saradnji sa Udruženjem građana Vive žene iz Tuzle, Fondacija Udružene žene Banja Luka radi na razvoju kapaciteta lokalnih pružaoca usluga u Brčko distriktu kako bi unaprijedili sistemski i koordinisan pristup sprečavanju i suzbijanju nasilja prema ženama i nasilja u porodici, usklađen sa međunarodnim standardima iz Istanbulske konvencije i usmjeren na pružanje efikasne i senzibilisane podrške ženama i djevojčicama žrtvama nasilja. Aktivnosti su podržane od strane UNWOMEN kancelarije u Bosni i Hercegovini, i pored aktivnosti izgradnje kapaciteta i mentoringa za profesionalke i profesionalce u institucijama koje rade sa ženama i djevojčicama žrtvama nasilja, uključuju i razvoj Protokola subjekata zaštite o sprečavanju i suzbijanju nasilja prema ženama i nasilja u porodici, koji će biti potpisan u aprilu 2018 godine.
