SOS Helpline Niksic have joined the regional action on 17th January 2022, and together with women activists from over 40 women’s organizations from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia called public institutions that are responsible for prevention and combating all forms of violence against women and girls to work responsibly to protect survivors, conduct urgent actions, and adequately sanction perpetrators of violence.
As a part of regional action conducted in three countries, an hourglass sculpture has been placed on key locations in five cities – Belgrade, Vranje, Nikšić, Podgorica and Sarajevo,– with a message „ That all institutions are obliged to act in line with the law and international standards“. Hourglass sculpture aims to serve as symbolic reminder and warning that the institutions are responsible for lives of women, and that time is ticking.
With ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on Prevention and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (Istanbul Convention), Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina obliged not to participate in any form of violence against women, and to ensure that authorities, public officials, bodies, institutions, and other subjects that are acting in the name of the state would respect this obligation. Member countries have to act with due diligence to prevent, investigate, and sanction violence, and ensure reparations for survivors of violence.
During 2021, 2 women were killed in Montenegro. Additionally, in the January 2022., one case of family violence finished unfortunately by murder of one young , 27 years old pregnant woman.

SOS telefon Nikšić je učestvovao u regionalnoj akciji održanoj 17. januara 2022.g. i zajedno sa aktivistkinjama iz preko 40 ženskih organizacija iz Crne Gore, Bosne i Hercegovine i Srbije pozvala javne institucije koje su odgovorne za sprječavanje i suzbijanje svih oblika nasilja prema ženama i djevojčicama da rade svoj posao odgovorno i savjesno i da zaštite žene žrtve nasilja, hitno postupaju i adekvatno kazne počinioce.
Kao dio regionalne akcije koja je realizovana u tri zemlje, skulptura pješčanog sata je postavljena na ključnim lokacijama u pet gradova – Beogradu, Vranju, Nikšiću, Podgorici i Sarajevu– sa jasnom porukom da su sve institucije odgovorne da djeluju u skladu sa zakonima i međunarodnim standardima. Skulptura pješčanog sata ima za cilj da služi kao simboličan podsjetnik i opomena da su institucije odgovorne za živote žena, a da vrijeme ističe.
Sa ratifikacijom Konvencije Savjeta Evrope o sprečavanju i suzbijanju nasilja prema ženama i nasilja u porodici (Istanbulska konvencija), Srbija, Crna Gora i Bosna i Hercegovina su se obavezale da neće učestvovati u bilo kom djelu nasilja nad ženama i da će osigurati da državne vlasti i dužnosnici, tijela, institucije i ostali subjekti koji postupaju u ime države djeluju u skladu s ovom obavezom. Države imaju obavezu da sa dužnom pažnjom spriječe, istraže i kazne nasilje, a preživjelima osiguraju naknadu štete.
Tokom 2021. godine u Crnoj Gori su ubijene 2 žene. Takođe, u januaru 2022. godine jedan slučaj porodičnog nasilja okončan je ubistvom jedne mlade, 27-godišnje trudnice.
