CSSP News: Briefing paper on the benefits and challenges of implementing the Istanbul Convention
WAVE has published the briefing paper on the benefits and challenges of implementing the Istanbul Convention which covers the efforts of the CSSP platform, as well as CSSP partners individually, in supporting the implementation of the Istanbul Convention at a national and regional level. The paper highlights the main benefits and challenges in properly implementing the Convention and it offers a country-by-country short analysis on the implementation of the Convention in each seven partner countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey).
The publication was developed by the WAVE office in collaboration with all aforementioned partners, under the UN Women project: Support the establishment and strengthening of regional platforms of civil society organisations (with special focus on organisations representing women from minority and disadvantaged groups) to advocate for the development and implementation of laws and policies in line with CEDAW and the Istanbul Convention, under the programme ‘Ending Violence against Women: Implementing norms, changing minds’.
